EVEN MORE LEGENDS IN MAY!

Michael Ballack and Eidur Gudjohnsen are the latest former Blues to sign up for our Legends game against Inter Forever next month.
The pair’s Stamford Bridge careers followed one another, Gudjohnsen departing for Barcelona after six successful seasons as a Blue in 2006 as Ballack arrived from Bayern Munich for four trophy-laden years. They join the Chelsea squad following the announcement that the match will now be dedicated to the memory of Ray Wilkins, following the passing of our former player and coach earlier this month.
Ballack is looking forward to pulling on the Chelsea shirt once more. ‘I am very happy to be joining the Chelsea Legends game, raising money for some important causes,’ he said. ‘I loved working with Ray Wilkins, he was a wonderful man who will be missed by all of us in the Chelsea family, so it is an honor to wear the blue shirt again in his memory.
‘I am also looking forward to sharing a pitch with some important players like Gianfranco Zola and Jurgen Klinsmann, and I am sure it will be a fantastic occasion.’
Gudjohnsen added: ‘I can’t wait to be back at Stamford Bridge to play in front of the Chelsea fans alongside some of my former friends and team-mates, and some huge players from the club’s history.
‘Ray had a huge impact on me personally and professionally and I know how much he meant to everybody at Chelsea, and the wider football world, so we will be sure to put on a great show on the night to honor him.’
Ballack and Gudjohnsen join a raft of notable former Blues lining up to face the Nerazzuri, so if you want to see Gianfranco Zola, Marcel Desailly, Roberto Di Matteo, Dennis Wise, Gianluca Vialli and many more back in action at the Bridge, book your tickets now!
