As reported by Football Italia referring to Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport, during his recent visit to his homeland Mancini in Rome held negotiations with representatives of the federation of football in Italy and agreed on the terms of the contract. The parties discussed the future appointment within two hours. Under the terms of the contract, calculated for two years, the specialist will receive € 4 million per season. However, the leadership of Zenit and in particular the president of blue-white-blue Sergei Fursenko are dissatisfied with Mancini's intention to leave the club, but the Italian is confident that he will be able to come to terms with his superiors.

Officially, the appointment of Mancini for the post of head coach of the Italian national team will be announced before May 20.
