Former Liverpool footballer Steven Gerrard, currently working with the youth team of the Reds, will soon be officially appointed as a mentor to the Scottish Rangers, Sky Sports reports.

According to the publication, the Englishman agreed with the "Rangers" contract, designed for three seasons. Assistant Gerrard will be his former partner for Liverpool Gary McAllister.

Previous mentor "Rangers" Graham Murty was sent into retirement on May 1 after a crushing defeat in a match with "Celtic" (0: 5).
